(Newport, RI)- Each year Sailing World magazine presents North America’s largest sailing regatta series, the National Offshore One Design Regattas. This incredibly popular regatta is broadly enjoyed by J/Sailors from around America, Canada, and Mexico. (Bristol, RI)- The first of several new J/80's on the way from France has arrived in Bristol, Rhode Island. The J/80 Class is enjoying a resurgence in North America. The J/80 North Americans are in Annapolis, MD in mid-May and then this September the J/80 World Championship returns to Newport, Rhode Island. FREDO Wins J/80 Mundialito Regatta
(Santander, Spain)- The Real Club Maritimo Santander in Santander, Spain hosted the 2019 J/80 Mundialito Cup Regatta off their famous setting in front of Spain's Pyrenees on the northeastern shoreline of Spain, located on the Bay of Biscay. (Hong Kong, China)- Over 200 boats turned up for the 26.0nm Solaris Yachts Around the Island Race under a perfect blue sky. (San Diego, CA)- The second race of the Hot Rum Series took place last weekend in more classic San Diego fall weather conditions. Starting light in the morning, the winds gradually built into NNW in the 7-12 kts range. It was a day of resurrection for a number of J/Teams from their previous weekend's disappointing performances. COURRIER ECOLE NAVALE Crowned French 2019 J/80 National Champion
(La Rochelle, France)- There was a lot of celebration taking place at the French Naval Academy (Courrier Ecole Navale) after this past weekend’s results at the French J/80 National Championship. The Societe Regates Rochelaises hosted the event from November 1st to 3rd for forty-eight J/80 teams from across France and Spain.
